**Each week, you’ll read about 15 to 30 pages of the comic at home, using a detailed study guide that helps you:**

### **✨ A little bit about *Petit Pays by Gael Faye***

The graphic novel adaptation of *Petit Pays* brings Gaël Faye’s powerful childhood story to life through striking illustrations. Follow Gabriel, a young boy growing up in Burundi in the 1990s, as his innocent world of family, friends, and play is transformed by the outbreak of civil war and the Rwandan genocide.

The combination of text and visuals makes complex emotions, cultural context, and historical events easier to understand, offering learners an immersive and engaging way to practice French, enrich their vocabulary, and reflect on themes of identity, memory, and resilience.

**✨ What will you do over the course of 6 weeks ?**

- Read and discuss a captivating graphic novel.

- Expand your vocabulary (emotions, family, identity, war, memory).

- Practice grammar in context:

  - Past tenses in storytelling: imparfait, passé composé, plus-que-parfait.

  - Hypothetical sentences

  - Logical connectors to structure your speech (cause, consequence, opposition).

  - Expressions of opinion, doubt, and certainty.

  - Express an opinion using Subjonctif.

- Share your opinions, tell personal stories, debate meaningful themes.

- Strengthen your speaking and writing skills through creative activities.
